General admission requirements

Eligibility to apply for an undergraduate study programme

If you are interested in studying at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology as an international bachelor student, you need a ‘’university entrance qualification’’ as one of the admission requirements. This is your school-leaving certificate which qualifies you to study bachelor programmes at German universities.

To find out whether your school-leaving certificate meets the requirements for the degree programs at our university, please use the DAAD Database on admission requirements.  The other option to check your eligibility is through the Anabin Website. On this website, you can specify your country, certificate, school or university to check whether you will need to fulfill any further requirements. Please note that the website is unfortunately only available in German.

If your qualification does not provide you with application eligibility for our university, you have these options:

  • One year of study at an internationally recognized university in your country (please note that the duration of studies can vary depending on in which country you attained your certificate).
  • One year of study at Studienkolleg in Germany (in some cases, the certificate is only valid in the specific federal states). The Studienkolleg for universities of applied sciences in Bavaria is located in Coburg. You can find more information: Studienkolleg Coburg
  • One year foundation study in the International Foundation Program at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FHOÖ - Austria). This university is an official cooperation partner of DIT.

If you are planning to study in Master programmes, your ‘’university entrance qualification’’ would be a Bachelor certificate.

Information about language certificates required

If you aim to study in German and do not have the German language certificate for your desired study programme yet, you could apply for our language preparation semester Let's Get Started.
