shape your environment

In the environmental engineering course you will learn how to analytically record the effects of human intervention in nature and the development of nature.

In addition to the core modules mathematics, building physics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and chemistry, topics such as regenerative energies, building technology or ecological building round off your course of studies. In addition to these classic scientific and engineering modules, knowledge of project management, construction operations and law is also taught.

career prospects

In our Bachelor's programme, we focus on a wide-ranging, qualified and interdisciplinary education that enables you to work in a wide variety of professions.

Career opportunities are available in the public sector, in companies in the environmental, energy and construction sectors, as well as in engineering offices and in freelance practice.

The studies should enable students to work as engineers in the following fields:

  •     Environmental and energy consulting
  •     Expert activity
  •     Energy-efficient planning and construction
  •     Sustainable production, management and construction
  •     Environmental impact assessments
  •     Ecological quality
  •     Contaminated sites and disposal
  •     Recycling, recovery and evaluation of substances
  •     Ecological water management
  •     Residential water management
  •     Traffic management
  •     Building services engineering

The study of environmental engineering should on the one hand enable you to start your professional life at an early stage and on the other hand enable you to take an in-depth engineering master's degree.

Graduates have acquired a sound basic knowledge in mathematical and scientific fields and have a sound knowledge of the specific basics of environmental engineering. You can plan and develop projects, e.g. in the fields of building services engineering, water and green building as well as energy supply systems, and you are trained to do this in an interdisciplinary team. In addition, you have the ability to analyse specialist tasks and are able to develop suitable methods for the production of evidence and forecasts. As an environmental engineer, you also have knowledge of researching environmental information and the ability to evaluate it, integrate it into your own knowledge and develop it further.
