2018 12 13 Erste Absolventenfeier ECRI

gbOn 7 December, the first ECRI graduates celebrated their graduation

In the rooms of the Old Town Hall in Pfarrkirchen, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology and the city of Pfarrkirchen bid farewell to nine alumni of the Medical Informatics Master's programme.

The first graduates of the European Campus received their final certificate from Prof. Dr. Georgi Chaltikyan and Prof. Dr. Christian Steckenbauer, head of the course of studies, in the historical wedding hall and dressed in the appropriate robes and "doctor's hats". Georgi Chaltikyan confirmed to the new graduates how important and promising an education in Digital Health will be in the future. Actually, most graduates, who come from seven different countries, already found a place in Germany. This success also rewards all professors and employees who have worked tirelessly for the European Campus since its inception. The festive setting was therefore also an occasion for honours in connection with the graduates' farewell.

THD President Prof. Dr. Peter Sperber honoured Prof. Dr. Chaltikyan and Prof. Dr. Herntrei for their commitment to the European Campus. Wolfgang Beißmann thanked Prof. Dr. Peter Sperber and Prof. Dr. Horst Kunhardt as the first mayor of the city of Pfarrkirchen by awarding them an honorary plaque. The fact that Pfarrkirchen and the European Campus have grown closely together and enrich each other was clearly demonstrated during the graduation ceremony. The preparations for the event by the Alumni Office of DIT and the European Campus also provided the city with intensive support, made the premises available and was responsible for the buffet and music. In the future, the celebration will take place regularly to accompany the graduates on their way from student to alumnus/alumna.
