The aim of the institute is to examine human behavior in relation to social systems and social structures, from various interdisciplinary perspectives. In doing this, both the system-immanent and external factors that impact and influence people and said systems are taken into account.

Our Institute was founded on 1 January 2025.

The Institute for Transformation of Society (I-ETOS) aims to serve as a guiding compass during times of rapid change.  

We facilitate the understanding of essential knowledge and equip individuals and organizations with the skills and tools necessary to navigate and shape processes concerning Culture, Organization, Politics, and Technology.  

By leveraging insights from both the past and present, we are able to create future oriented perspectives, methodologies and products to help steer future progress. 

The mission of the Institute for Transformation of Society (I-ETOS) is to explore, analyze, and influence the complex interactions between cultural norms, socio-political dynamics, and technological innovations  

Aims to shape by research, collaboration, and policy development sustainable and equitable transformations that address societal challenges on local and global levels 

Goals of our research are understanding human behavior and its role in social systems / society while considering influences from both inside the system as well as the impacting factors from outside the system. 

To achieve these goals, the following interconnected and interdependent main research areas will be examined: 

• Environment: The environment shapes and influences all living beings. 
• Society / Social System: Society organizes interactions through structured systems.
• Human: Humans navigate complexity with thought and emotion. 
• Norms, Values, Cultures: Norms and values guide behavior within cultural contexts. 
• Technology: Technology transforms how we connect and create. 
• Control: Control regulates systems to maintain stability.

• I-ETOS is affiliated with the European Campus Rottal-Inn (ECRI) in Pfarrkirchen
