The Centre for Entrepreneurship at Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences promotes entrepreneurial thinking and action amongst students and researchers. We support innovative ideas from the initial definition of the problem, through the development of viable business models, right through to their practical implementation – in a practical, scientifically sound and interdisciplinary manner.
Our programmes in the field of entrepreneurship education combine teaching, research and knowledge transfer, creating an environment in which start-up ideas can flourish. We are active at all three of the THD’s teaching locations: Deggendorf, Cham and Pfarrkirchen.

Offers for students
Open consultation hours – just pop in!
Do you have an idea in mind but don’t know how to get started? Or are you simply curious about starting your own business? Then our open consultation sessions are just the thing for you!
The THD Centre for Entrepreneurship is now offering weekly open consultation sessions at our three campuses.
- Personal interaction rather than dry theory
- Individual feedback on your ideas
- Support with your first steps towards setting up a business
- Guidance through the ‘jungle’ of business plans, grants and the like
- Just come along for a no-obligation taster session
You can really ask anything to do with entrepreneurship. For example:
- “I’ve got an idea – is it even feasible?”
- How do I turn my idea into a business model?
- How do I find a team or co-founders?
- What funding opportunities are available for students?
- How do I write a business plan (or do I even need one)?
- How do I test my idea on the market?
- Questions about pitching, funding or networking

Workshops
Contract Research & Entrepreneurship – two sides of the same coin
Your world is the laboratory or the workshop. At the same time, you are constantly navigating the seemingly endless chain of research applications and funding schemes. So why – or perhaps precisely for that reason – might it be worth your while to look beyond this horizon!
Expanding skills:
- Research ideas are systematically analysed for their potential for commercialisation, and valuable market skills are provided
- Identifying concrete pathways – from collaborations to spin-offs
- Highlighting new perspectives on the development of ideas and solutions
- Learning entrepreneurial thinking to complement scientific expertise
All without any pressure to start a business! The primary focus is on useful skills, sound decision-making and new scope for action. Of course, if someone does discover their inner entrepreneur, so much the better.
-
The end result will be a concrete, scientifically sound commercialisation concept for your research.
