The course outlines the components of a research proposal and discusses how to avoid research misconduct. Participants explore how to define and refine the scope of their research topic and produce a short research proposal in which they derive their topic and situate it within the current state of research, formulate a research question, and present their proposed methodology along with the data framework.
Successful completion of the course requires the following three elements:
- Preparation and drafting of a proposal
- Reading, reviewing and discussing the draft proposals in a small group
- Submission of the revised proposal
