Marinelle's cultural shifts

As an Industrial Engineering student, Marinelle has great chances of finding a job in the industry here in Germany. Balancing engineering and management, she wants to stay here to continue her personal and professional development in this new environment. Marinelle´s dream is to find an internship where she can write her thesis and continue working there after graduation.

She experienced a bit of a culture shock when she moved from Beirut, Lebanon, to Pfarrkirchen. However, Marinelle now enjoys the quiet and relaxing nature that surrounds the town. Her parents came to visit her, but her mum did not give Marinelle a chance to show them the natural surroundings she had come to enjoy. Instead, her mum only wanted to go to the big supermarkets to discover the many types of German foods.

At first, Marinelle felt lonely when she arrived in Germany. Over time, she found a group of friends that she now considers family. Marinelle says she is living some of the best days of her life.
