Iranian-Malaysian culinary passion meets Industrial Engineering at the ECRI

Maryam is a food person through and through. No wonder, as she calls Iran and Malaysia her home. Two countries that offer a very unique and wide variety of food. She grew up in an Iranian household with lots of Persian food and has had every kind of food imaginable in Malaysia. What she misses most is the Persian kebab and recommends that people from Pfarrkirchen try it. You can even make them here, but the spices are hard to find in shops. She also misses Persian bakeries, Korean BBQ and
seafood. Even though her home countries offer such a variety of food, there is one thing she would take home with her: Cereal.

As much as she loves food, she is also passionate about industrial engineering. She chose to study at the ECRI because it was one of only two universities in Germany that offered Industrial Engineering in English. She is motivated by the effort the professors at the ECRI put into their lectures and teaching. She wants to improve her German language skills and acquire programming skills so that after graduation she can apply to large, renowned companies such as McKinsey or the BCG Group to further develop her knowledge.
