Evan Brittain, MD, MSc, is professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Co-Director of the Vanderbilt Pulmonary Circulation Center, and Associate Director of the Vanderbilt Coordinating Center. He received his medical degree from Cornell Medical College and completed Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Vanderbilt. During fellowship he received advanced training in cardiovascular imaging and clinical investigation through Vanderbilt's MSCI program. His translational research program focuses on identifying mechanisms of pulmonary vascular disease and right heart failure using experimental models, clinical trials, and epidemiologic methods. His work also leverages wearable devices to monitor and promote physical activity in pulmonary hypertension and other chronic diseases. He has received funding from the NIH, FDA, and American Heart Association. He treats patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and directs the inpatient cardiology consult service at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
