In addition to research and teaching, the transfer of knowledge and technology (WTT) is one of the tasks of a university. This describes all interrelations between university and practice, especially in the fields of research, development and application, as well as all promotional and supporting measures in this context.
The Transfer Office is a central point of contact for companies and research institutions that are interested in cooperating with DIT and the Technology Campuses or are looking for research project partners or research services.
Among other things, it serves to process and prepare external inquiries to DIT in order to identify suitable professors and to realize forms of cooperation together with internal and external partners.
A broad range of consulting, service and cooperation services, which includes all faculties, technology campuses and institutes of DIT, supports the regional and supra-regional economic and scientific landscape in securing and further developing innovative strength and competitiveness.
In addition, events, trade fairs and public relations work offer the opportunity to get to know potential partners and make initial contacts.
Knowledge and technology transfer at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology is understood as a process of "giving and taking" from which both sides of a cooperation benefit equally.

The research profile of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) is characterized by four interdisciplinary research focal points. These are represented in ten technology campuses, a health campus, several research institutes and the faculties. In the course of the knowledge and technology transfer (WTT) DIT offers a contact point especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. The close cooperation with the regional economy makes the university the motor and mentor of an entire region. DIT thus supports the political model of a science-supported regional and structural policy in the Free State of Bavaria in a regional and supra-regional visibility.
The Technology Campuses and part of the institutes of the THD are deliberately located in rural regions in order to support the transfer of technology and knowledge from and for the economy and society.
With the Technology Campuses, a unique concept in Bavaria is being implemented: A university opens itself consistently to industry and works closely with partner municipalities and the regional economy on the development of a new technology image for an entire region. DIT consistently uses its competence and high-quality equipment to strengthen regional companies. The principle of value creation in the region is successfully implemented here.
